In July 2017, at the World Association of Lebanese Neurosurgeons, Dr. Houssein Darwish captivated audiences as a Speaker, enlightening them on the intricacies of Endoscopic Endonasal Resection of Skull Base Tumors. His impactful contributions continued in June 2014 at the Lebanese Society of Neurological Surgery annual meeting, where he shared insights on EC-IC surgery for Moya-Moya disease.

May 2014 witnessed his engaging presentation at the Lebanese League Against Epilepsy, discussing the Resection of Motor Cortex Cortical Dysplasia. Dr. Darwish’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge extended into February 2014 at the Lebanese League Against Epilepsy, where he delved into the nuances of Functional Hemispheretomy with Motor Sparing Technique.

His collaboration with Dr. Bustany’s lab focused on Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL). Noteworthy chapters include “Craniosynostosis Surgical Management” in Neurosurgery Tricks in the Trade (2011) and “Peripheral Nerve Injury: Physical Exam and Diagnosis” (2012). In 2013, he wrote five chapters on operative dictation for various endovascular interventions.

From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Darwish co-authored research articles on topics ranging from intracranial hydatid cysts to lumbar subdural cerebrospinal fluid collection after Chiari malformation Type I decompression. Ongoing projects include the study of the modified far-lateral transatlas approach, trigeminal neuralgia caused by petrous bone endostosis, and the surgical management of CSF leaks.

In 2018, he contributed to the literature on the management of pituitary adenomas through Mononostril Endoscopic Transsphenoidal Surgery. Ongoing research involves the surgical resection of motor cortical dysplasia and a study on the frontal sinus’s anatomical relation to the supra-orbital notch in a Middle Eastern population.
