Prof Dr. Hassan Tavakoli: Electromagnetics Wave on the Neurotransmitters

šŸ”¬Ā Prof. Dr. Hassan Tavakoli conducted groundbreaking research on the impact of radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic waves on neurotransmitter biosensors. A biosensor utilizing glutamate oxidase (GluOx) was developed for measuring glutamate concentration, crucial for understanding neural activity. The biosensor, constructed with a sol-gel chitosan solution and GluOx, underwent analysis with RF-exposed GluOx to explore RF effects.

Cyclic voltammetry experiments gauged biosensor responses, revealing that RF waves influenced detection and response in the saturation region while minimally affecting the linear range. This suggests RF waves may alter the structure and function of GluOx, emphasizing the need for corrective coefficients when utilizing GluOx-based biosensors in RF fields. Evaluation of long-term stability, selectivity, pH, and temperature optimization further enriched the study.

In the burgeoning field of neurotechnology, Tavakoli’s work underscores the importance of understanding how external factors, like RF waves, impact biosensor accuracy, paving the way for more reliable neurotransmitter concentration measurements in diverse conditions. šŸŒšŸ§ŖšŸ”¬
